How to proceed if you want to study Digital Arts at AFAD?
Step 1: Get information

Step 2: Send your application
Fill in your application, send it to AFAD together will all required documents, pay the handling fee.

Step 3: Draw, model, animate, study, record, create
Keep working on the following three things: Portfolio, Homework (Mandatory Assignment) on this year’s topic, and Videointroduction about yourself. Study our recommended materials.
The topic for homework this year is “Tension in the Dark”:
With the theme “tension in the dark”, we invite you to explore diverse forms of tension in different aspects of darkness or obscurity. You may work with direct references, but you can also use visual metaphors and social situations to show us your particular perception of these concepts. What can tension in the dark cause? What kinds of darkness can we think about in this context? In what spaces, times and relationships can tension be felt and captured? We look forward to your ideas.

When: Before December 7 – December 14, 2026
Step 4: Upload your works
AFAD will send you access credentials to our server where you will upload your portfolio, homework and videointroduction. Don’t leave it to the last minute. You don’t want to be stressed if your internet goes down.
When: Between December 7 and December 14, 2026, 14:00
Step 5: Wait for result
We will evaluate your uploaded work and the school will then send you a decision on whether you have been accepted to the second round.
When: After January 8, 2027
